The Cubic Diamond Studio used natural wood and light concrete to blend in with the desertic surrounding of Yanbu’ al Bahr in Saudi Arabia. The house, almost unnoticed behind the concrete walls, protected from sunlight and passersby, is mostly glazed. The area is highly residential; thus, its urban planning imposes many cultural and traditional limitations related to privacy and design. The result is a juxtaposition of a very modern architecture with local traditional regulations and materials.
